Just a Little Snow!

My mom, Raymond and I took advantage of last week's long weekend by heading up north to a little town called Presque Isle Maine.  You see, it has always been a dream of Raymond's to see so much snow that he could step out of a second floor window onto it.  While we didn't quite see that much, I think that he was sufficiently pleased by what we did see!  Needless to say, it was beautiful.  Besides the snow, we were also able to see long-time family friends! :)  Check it out!

Quick stop at LL Bean!

Raymond's first Lobster roll!

So we went to see Pluto, the first of the planets in the Solar System model on our way to Presque Isle.  However, the sign says Pluto has been taken, and we're currently looking for a replacement.  It was pretty funny!

Soo pretty!

Can, you tell he was excited?!

Mom and Barbara, friends since high school, catching up in the kitchen.

He wanted to see what 20 below felt like!

It's everywhere! :)

Jeremiah's 'garage'!  Pretty sweet!

Check out how high the banks are!

That's a lake, and those are ice fishing huts!

Another one of Raymond's dreams was to walk on a frozen lake!!  DONE!!

The ladies on the lake!

Best buds at dinner!

Yeah, it was pretty cold!

Mary Helen and Nate's little girl, Izzy!

Nana, Grumpy and Izzy! :)

Ready to hit the snowmobiles!

While Raymond and Nate hit the trails, the rest of us stayed and helped in the kitchen!

Cutie Patootie!

Izzy looks like mini-Barbara in this one!

After Raymond and Nate came back from the trails, mom and I were ready for our turn.  And yes, that is my mother in a snow sled helmet!!

Mom on the sled with Raymond, ready for her quick trip up the road and back!

Ok, my turn!

We went out for a long time.  We went all through the fields around Jeremiah's place!  It was so much fun!  Something we both definitely want to do again!

Mom and Izzy!

Barbara's backyard, with a good 6 inches of fresh snow!  This picture does not do the scene justice.  It was gorgeous!  And the snow was still falling around us!

Of course, Raymond takes one shot the whole trip, and he kills it!  Gotta love that innate talent!  Those crystals in the snow, were of course so much prettier in person, but this gives you an idea!

Then we made snow angels...

See how deep?!  It was awesome!

Then right before we got to the airport to go home, we stopped at this restaurant on an old boat.  A floating restaurant!  Raymond got to try his first whole lobster!
Raymond looking dapper in his lobster bib! ;)

He was a pro!

We had an incredible time in Maine.  Good friends, good food, and beautiful snow everywhere!  It was a trip the Fosters will not soon forget!  I think we will have to make it a yearly adventure!  Because, let's face it, Raymond will never be satisfied with Va snow again! ;)
